TWIN RIDGE ROAD

Picture
"I have enjoyed working with Brian and Cody Lynch and their crew for several years.

They are highly competent at keeping their projects moving, have the some of the most excellent subcontractors, and really take pride in all levels of implementing and perfecting details of the architect's design.

As a team player, Lynch Construction has proven their knowledge and skills to tackle my most challenging hillside home perched at the crest of Twin Ridge Road. "

Lori A. Kari, AIA.   Kari Architect.

Designed by Architect Lori Kari and built by Lynch Construction of Santa Barbara, this Contemporary Eco-friendly home is perched atop nine acres of rolling hillside at the top of Old San Marcos Pass and is abundant with native flora and fauna.

The interior of the home features a gourmet kitchen with a 1,500-pound onyx stone wall that is back-lit for a truly dramatic effect. To add to the home’s luxury, a home theater with a state-of-the-art sound system was installed. The theatre also features folding glass doors that allow the panoramic vistas in. Each of the home’s four bedrooms has en-suite bathrooms for added privacy for the family and their guests.  The wine cellar has floor to ceiling wine racks custom made for the owner’s extensive wine collection. The entire home is radiant heated and airconditioned.

The rooftop deck rails were innovatively designed by renowned artist and welder Dave Shelton.  To allow for unobstructed views, Dave utilized gorilla netting in his construct. The deck also features a fireplace, mini bar and a dumb waiter that is connected to the downstairs pantry adjoining the kitchen.

Further up on the parcel are two outbuildings, housing a home office and a fully equipped gym. Along the same path is a lovely herb garden for the homeowner, who also happens to be a gourmet chef.

This ground-up environmentally conscious homes comes with a full array of solar panels and was a design-build challenge, as this was raw land and no infrastructure, utilities or permanent road existed when the design of the home began.  The innovative water reclamation system, utilizes hardscape and roof run off to irrigate the landscaping via an underground 2800-gallon tank.  Additionally, two 5,000-gallon tanks provide the home’s domestic water use and fire sprinkler system.

The attention to planning and detail from start to finish means that the home is of superb quality and also blends perfectly with the surrounding topography.

Views from this property are unobstructed from Carpinteria to Goleta, as well as the Channel Islands and capture every stunning sunrise and sunset.
